Stud Connector Advantages: Anderson Connector Advantages:
♦ Can connect more than one cable on a stud
♦ More secure connection when correct lugs are used.
♦ Easy to mount, just 2 screws
♦ Safe to use
♦ Quick and easy to connect and disconnect cables
♦ No tools required to connect/disconnect
♦ Parts consist of 1 x plastic housing and 2 x lugs for socket and same again for the plug.
♦ Canít short out leads
♦ Looks better
♦ Faster and easier to remove and replace.
♦ Can connect battery lead directly to load lead if SR is removed.
Stud Connector Disadvantages: Anderson Connector Disadvantages:
♦ Easy to short outputs when using tools
♦ Cable orientation perpendicular to stud.
♦ Can be sheared off if over tightened.
♦ Charger needs to be off to disconnect.
♦ Not Ideal for voltages above 60VDC.
♦ Brass is not suitable in certain gas environments.
♦ Very easy to make reversed polarity connection.
♦ Potential for live uninsulated leads when disconnected
♦ Exposed live terminals
